"No one can come to God, no one can be saved, no one can please God, except they believe God answers prayer!" ~ T.C. Horton

Phi 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Phi 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I
n these last days, prayer is the most neglected area in the Christian's life. Supplication means a "humble and earnest prayer in worship" and a "Petition; earnest request."

A.C. Gabelein once said that,
"Being alone with God is the strength of the believer's life."

We need to see things as God sees them. We must be praying according to the
will of God.

Ask the Lord to show you what needs to change within the home.
Pray for wisdom
Confess your sins and shortcomings before the Lord
Pray for God's leading throughout your day
Pray that the Lord would show you how to better serve Him
Pray for strength in every situation
Make your requests known unto God-- Believe God-- that He will provide
Pray for your family, finances, friends, neighbors, etc.
Pray to have the love of Jesus for everyone.
Pray for spiritual understanding of the Word of God

Now in the above text, many Christians quote verse 6 but they FORGET verse 7.

Phi 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

How can you have the peace of God? By giving all your prayers and earnest petitions into His hands-- trusting in Him to fulfill His will in your life.

Mark 4:39
And he [Jesus] arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

A woman who fears the Lord, trusts the Lord.

Do we trust the Lord?

In the Bible there are many examples of men and women who trusted in the Lord. Trusting in the Lord means that you lay all your burdens-- your household, your finances, your happiness at the Lord's feet, knowing within your heart that He
will take care of everything. Believing His Word -- "All things work together for good..."

Rom 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Notice it says, "HIS PURPOSE". What is God's will for our lives? To be a godly woman in an ungodly generation. We are to pray for God's will to be done in our lives. Whatever the task before us, He can enable us to walk in victory before Him.

1John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask
any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Notice that in James 4:3, the Lord tells us that there are those who ask but receive not because they are asking for worldly and harmful things. God will not give us things that will cause us to backslide. God will not give us evil things that will
cause us to sin-- to lust after money. (The love of money is the root of all evil).

James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

We cannot do what we want to do and ask the Lord to bless it. We are to pray according to God's will. Our selfish desires have no place in our prayers.

J. Vernon McGee taught that,
"In our prayers, we need to be more concerned about seeing God's will be done and not our desires fulfilled." Oh how true that is and yet we all want things done our way at times. Yet, if we pray according to
His will, He heareth us.

We must stand on the only firm foundation- Christ Jesus. Prayer is a lifestyle which most of us have yet to master.

John R. Rice said,
"In answer to prayer, God miraculously intervenes in human affairs and changes things, people, weather, outward circumstances, health,
even to the working of physical miracles."

Prayer is: Communication - talking with God.

T.C. Horton said, "If there are ever conditions that hinder prayer, the conditions are on the part of the one who prays and not on God's part."

1John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

The Lord Jesus said in John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Eph 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

James 4:7-8 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he
will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

May we all draw closer to the Lord today by spending time with Him in prayer
and by reading His Word. When we have fellowship with the Lord, He shows us how to have proper fellowship with others.
